These operating frequencies are a guide.

We will nearly always work split frequency and will regularly announce the frequencies on which we are listening. We may only make contacts on our transmitting frequency during the last few days of the DXpedition if the pile-ups have disappeared. Always listen to the operator carefully for band specific instructions.

Typically, a DXpedition SSB station transmitting on 14195kHz will listen up in the range 14200 - 14220kHz. If we find we are operating on the same transmit frequency as another DXpedition we will move down around 5 kHz typically to 14190kHz and we will then listen down say between 14165 and 14185kHz so as to split the pile ups and avoid confusion.

Listen to the operator carefully. The FP/VE7SV callsign will be given frequently along with the listening frequencies. QSL information will also be given on a regular basis.

We will not likely work by numbers, but will definitely work (at certain times) by call area or geographic region, i.e. JA or VK/ZL or the Pacific. If you're not in these call areas or geographic region -- do not call.  Please respect the operators request for a certain call area.

Antenna Line-Up by Band

Our antenna's line-up by band for this operation will be as follows:

  • 1- Cushcraft 5 el 6 meter beam at 20' for 6 meters

  • 2x SteppIR 3 el at 30' on aluminum tower..... 6 thru 20 meters

  • 1x SteppIR BigIR vertical............................. 6 thru 40 meters

  • 1x 20 meter 2 el PVDA..............................20 meters

  • 1x 30 meter vertical....................................30 meters

  • 1x 40 meter 2 el phased vertical array.........40 meters

  • 1x 80 meter 4 square..................................80 meters

  • 1x Battle-Creek-Special.............................40 thru 160 meters

  • 1x beverage receiving antenna.....................80 and 160 meters

Potential Satellite Target Areas -- as per Ramon, XE1KK

If everything works as planed (and considering the shadow of the late UO-14 satellite), we expect to be able to contact  the following areas using LEO (low earth orbit) FM Satellite:

North America

  • All Canadian Provinces

  • Many US States except perhaps KH6 -- conservative estimate would be 30 States and maybe even KL7

  • All Mexico States -- we expect pileups here

  • Most Central America areas (TG, TI, maybe more)

  • All Caribbean area (KP4, KP2, CO, + others perhaps)

South America

  • Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Northern Brazil

Europe

  • All Europe including UA, but excluding TA, LZ, YO, SV. This would give at least 20 countries or maybe even more.

  • Scandinavia, the British Islands and TF8GX every day without question

Africa

  • CN, 7X, 3V,

  • EA8, CU, D4 (very likely)

Please note, all satellite work will be done on a time available basis only
